Thanks for visiting my "blog". "Blog" is short for WebLog and these are really cool ways for people to share stories, pictures and information with their friends and families over the internet.
I decided to start this blog to share with you my travels through South America. My husband, Nathan, and I will be travelling for several months and hope to see and do all kinds of exciting things. Do you know where South America is? Look on the map below. South America is the dark colored continent.
A continent is a very large piece of land that usually has many countries within it. Our earth has seven continents. Can you find all seven on the map? Notice that South America is actually attached to North America (the yellow continent). Did you know that we all live on the North American continent?
There are thirteen countries in South America and we plan to visit many of them. I will share our stories and adventures with you as we go, so from time to time you can visit this blog to find out where we are and what kind of fun we've been having!
On January 6th we will get on an airplane in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and fly to Buenos Aires, which is the capital of the country of Argentina. When we arrive we will have some challenges to face. Do you know what language the people in South America speak? That's right! Most people speak Spanish, so Nathan and I are going to have to learn to speak Spanish in order to communicate with the people. Maybe you can learn some Spanish words too as you follow the blog!
Also, they use different kinds of money in each country, so our American dollars will not work. Fortunately, there are many places that will change our dollars into different currencies. Currency means the type of money a nation uses.
I hope that you enjoy reading about Ms. Beth's Journey and that when I return I can visit you and share more stories with you!
Ms.Beth Hi this is Bradley. We really miss we really wish you could come back over and see us some time. When you were riding the airplane did it scare you.
